If you are an apartment REIT looking to prevail in the acquisitions market today, you are probably sitting on plenty of dry powder. Multifamily transaction volume is down dramatically -- 75 percent from the peak in mid-2007 and around 55 percent from a year ago -- and that trend is expected to continue well into next year.
